I have just returned from France, on arrival to France I received the test to say my roaming was up and running etc . Data automatically switched to Orange France etc. However, I could not get into the internet , only if I was connected to WiFi. This caused me so many problems as I had all the Covid stuff to complete when leaving to return to the UK. I tried everything to get it to work but to no avail, my husbands phone had no issue so I ended up having to teether his internet onto my phone to be able to complete relevant paperwork. Was this an issue with the phone itself, iPhone 11 Pro Max? It was very frustrating as I had set up the maps for on arrival and it would work and we took a wrong turn and ended up in the centre of Paris!!! We are back in two weeks and I would like my phone to be working correctly this time .

When roaming a number of factors kick in such as the local network, which o2 have no control over.

The first thing i would do is try and connect to an alternative network and test that it works from that

Also check your apn is set to mobile.o2.co.uk

Also it might be worth contacting o2 to see if you have any roaming bars on your account.

To contact Customer Services dial 202 from your o2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

Call o2 to check that iData is enabled on your account.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)
