It's certainly not normal. Any sim including O2 should work in an unlocked phone. It sounds like the sim has been damaged or your account has been blocked. Call customer service

It shouldn’t make any difference.
How did you unlock it?
What did you do?

I’d pop into the shop and ask them for a sim swap first and see if that helps.

Presumably you have tried reinserting the sim and rebooting the phone?

It does seem like a sim problem so do as suggested. Have you tried another network sim in the phone?
