You could buy any sim free phone or one that is locked to O2, fairly cheaply and put the sim in it from the broken phone.

You would need to phone O2 to check on your upgrade options.

What happens if i get a 12 months contract and cancel my tariff which my contract is only 1 month, how can i change this this 1 month to a 12 month?? will this be a lot more easier than getting a cheap phone to buy lol

If you're on a one month Simplicity contract you can just ask for an upgrade to a new contract with a phone included, you don't have to cancel anything, and you can keep the same number.

You can choose a phone here:

http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phones/Pay_Monthly/all_phones/all_brands

then look through the tariffs, either order online or ring O2 and see what deals they can offer.
