I was told I could have a free handset upgrade from 17th September 2017. When I got to the local store no free handset was available and now I’ve had a change of circumstance with my money. I now have an iPhone 8 and I had to take out a device plan even though I was promised online and via telephone call that my handset would be free. Store said nothing could be done and I had 30 days to change my mind. I regret my iPhone 8

You can cancel the contract within 14 days.
After that you need to pay off the device plan to cancel.
There are no free phones so you have misunderstood that aspect of your contract I’m afraid.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Hi @Tommy92 you have 14 days to cancel the contract. If you were misadvised it's best to go to the store, you may be able to speak to the person who told you that you had 30 days to cancel. Better yet, you could speak to a manager.
