I have received a text from O2 saying my usage has mostly been in the Europe Zone and if it continues I will be charged on my next bill. Yet, I haven’t left the country for 10 months (there’s a pandemic and hence a travel ban if anyone was unsure) so how is that possible? The last time I was out of England I actually had an entirely different phone contract - There seems no way to call O2 and speak to someone either, the automated messages just say goodbye to me and hang up?!

If the text has come from a mobile number it is a scam

If it' from a short code

You need to call O2 to clarify

All numbers are in this guide

You can use Skype from your PC to call the free numbers if you have no phone available

Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Advice from an O2 Guru regarding a way to get through:

When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling,

Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.

Press 2 for Everything Else

Press 5 for More Options

Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to an advisor.

Press Upgrade, Lost/Stolen or Fraud if you have to.

8am is the best time to call

Thanks for the info - it wasn’t from any number simply “O2-UK” with no number attached to it at all...

@BrettS

Most likely a system glitch in that case but you should still call customer service to check.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
