Hiya. I booked a return for my cooling off period but just saw on the website it says an exchange is possible. I don't have a spare handset for the time it takes to return the phone to getting a new one and need it for work. Do you know if you can exchange then send back the handset? Bought online. Thank you in advance slight_smile

@Tormatron

With change of mind policy you have to send it back first.

An exchange used to be possible @Tormatron

before the advent of refresh contracts.

Bow that the device is on a seperate credit agreement, it has to be cancelled by O2 first to close down your contract before you can start over with a new upgrade.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hiya I did see the policy but it wasn't very clear in terms of how it works for an exchange instead of a return

Oh right I see. That's not very helpful if you don't have another handset, would put people off doing it? Thank you for your answer

Its the downside to having a Credit Agreement for the handset, as these need to cancelled.

It's written into the Consumer Credit Act 1974 that you must return all goods when using the cooling off period.
