Does O2 warranty cover a broken LG G2 bought 2 months ago?

Hi,

Does the warranty on O2 phone cover accidental damage?

I broke the screen last week of my LG G2. Do you know roughly what O2 repairs would charge if the warranty doesn't cover accidental damage?

No, unfortunately broken screens are not a warrantable fault.
If no insurance exists anywhere it will have to be a paid for repair.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Did you take out O2 insurance ?

O2 insurance link https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/insurance/mobile-insurance

If not look at your household or bank account cover for accidental damage.

Manufacturers warranty unfortunately does not cover accidental damage.

You could look at an independent shop to see about a repair but this would invalidate any remaining warranty

I didn't sadly 😞

No insurance at all.

All my bank accounts pay me interest , no insurance.

I phoned O2 today and the lady said that the phone is still in warranty and even suggested that accidental damage could be covered. I asked here as it sounded a bit too good to be true 😞

I was hoping for a quote or something from O2 repairs.

You could send it with O2 repairs to see what they quote. Go to your local o2 shop.

Then either pay the amount they ask for or ask for it back.

Manufacturers warranty won't cover accidental damage. 😞

Did you check with your bank as most people are not aware cover exists.

Their would be an excess fee.

Link to Lg mobile phone warranty.

Home insurance remains the only possibility but with the insurance excess it's probably better just to take the hit on the repair.

Insurance these days doesn't cover much. Even "Acts of God" are disclaimed as accidental damage.  I had carphone warehouse insurance a couple of times and basically you have to pay their maximum cost, to get anything worthwhile.

Some people use their house insurance.

Thanks everyone. I'll just use LG repairs (already have the jiffy bag). It's a shame that the lady at O2 gave me false hope 😞

I might get a packaged current account in the future

Btw would IR be fixed under warranty? The remote control app never worked.
