Does O2 send 'you have used x% of your data' warnings?

Or do I have to set this up in the phone?

 

Obviously I can check the app, but I'd rather not have to.

Yes they do. But to be on the safe side set one up in your data usage settings on the phone 

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

You'll get the first warning at 80% and another at 100% used.
