Charges on monthly bill for calls (honestly) not made

Anonymous
Not applicable

On my last two monthly O2 bills, charges were listed to a (FreedomPop) number I once had, but cancelled several months ago, and I cut up the FreedomPop sim and FreedomPop assured me the number was disconnected, BUT I still got calls to that number charged on my O2 bill. I got in touch with O2 via Chat and they told me they would disconnect my O2 number and give me a new SIM, which I received, but have not used, and checking my bill I see yet another three calls to the FreedomPop number supposedly made from the O2 number AFTER the old sim card was cut up. I had a Chat on 19 Oct. They guy said it was impossible for calls charged NOT to have been made, implying I was lying! He agreed to waive the charges, totalling only £1.35 but it was the principle involved, but I see from my bank statement, the £1.35 was not waived but taken from my bank account. I really hate O2 and will not use my new sim card and would never recommend them to anyone.

Looks to be an american mvno - https://www.freedompop.com/
At a guess they use charge to phone to run? So send charge to o2 to top up perhaps?

Could be a standing order that's set up then?
Which would be taken regardless of the OP cutting the sim card up......

I thought initially it was some sort of scam....but couldn't understand why the sim card being cut up would change anything. The standing order set up does make sense though...

If it is an SO it needs stopping or else the OP will continue to get charged every month.
