Changing contracts and device but still with 02

Hi,

I think my current contract with 02 expires in August, and I've seen a deal for a new iPhone SE with 02 on affordablemobiles.co.uk.

I've settled my device plan - would I still be charged for leaving the contract early?

Cheers,

Gareth.

No, once the device plan is paid you are free to upgrade anywhere you like Guide: How does O2 Refresh work?

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I'm unsure whether I'm on 02 Refresh though? I purchased the plan and device at least a couple of years ago with Carphone Warehouse.

No it won't be refresh then, but if over 2 years you will have reached the minimum term so still free to leave or upgrade wherever.

If not yet 2 years, you will have to pay upto the end of the 2 year period.

If you text INFO to 85075 the service will text you back with any fees owing.

Just done that, estimate is I'll be charged nearly £100. Best wait until August.

Thank you for your help.

I guess that's 3 more payments then @GazMakaveli ?

Yes I think you're right @MI5. Hoping the deal I've found is as good/better in August.

You can always weigh up the savings by switching now compared to the termination fees.

It might still work out cheaper @GazMakaveli
