Hi. Ive recently changed my sim from a pay as you go to a pay monthly. Ive kept my old number but ever since ive swapped the sim card, I cant text or use any internet. I can still make phonecalls and receive texts. Any idea what the issue is?

Thanks

I did as you wrote. I can't choose, it automatically selects the old APN for me. I have 4G on the old APN, but I have no internet connection. I checked my account on o2 and it's not changed to "PAY monthly".

Try this

 - try is a simple reboot of the phone. (turn off and back on again)

Then, text the word ACTIVE to 2020 and save the settings that get sent back.

Also, check if there are any network issues in your area O2 Service Status

 - failing that, a call to O2 will be needed, @Domi_23

You still have the APN set for PAYG:

Android APN settings

Go to Settings
Select Wireless and Networks or More (the option depends on the Android Version)
Select the Mobile Networks > Access point names
Choose the Menu button
Select the New APN
Enter the following:
Name: o2 Internet
APN: mobile.o2.co.uk (PAYG: payandgo.o2.co.uk)
Username: o2web (PAYG: payandgo)
Password: password
APN type: If you're given a choice of options, pick internet+mms

Select Menu > Save
Choose the name that we have just created

To check that everything is working well, look at where you signal bars are and check if there is 4G, 3G, H, E or G

iPhone APN Settings

Select Settings > Mobile/Cellular Data
Select Mobile/Cellular Data Options
Select Mobile/Cellular Data Network
Fill in the following: Mobile or Cellular Data settings
APN: idata.o2.co.uk (PAYG: payandgo.o2.co.uk)
Username: vertigo (PAYG: payandgo)
Password: password
Visual Voicemail settings
APN: idata.o2.co.uk (PAYG: not used)
Username: vertigo (PAYG: not used)
Password: password (PAYG – not used)

It seems you are using a wrong sim card type for your account

You need to speak with customer service and get your account changed over to monthly

The sim card picks up the message centre number and apn settings from the sim so that is why you are having problems
