I used the app Rebtel to call my friend outside the UK and the number starts with 0300.  I suddenly found that there was a £70 local call fees in my bill.  Could anyone help me what is it? Why would O2 charge me that? I have not encountered any charges when I used WhatsApp to call my friends outside the UK.

@Eddy2

Charges are for an international call as per your contract terms.

Stick to whatsapp to avoid charges.

Thank you for your quick response.  Honestly, I just want to find a cheaper way to call my friend at the landline.  I’m just a normal phone user.  How could I know there is some special terms that would charge me for  £2.5 per minute for local 0300 calls?  What are these terms??

I’m confused.  The problem now is that O2 charged me for calling 0300 local numbers.  Is that a legitimate fee for a monthly plan with unlimited local calls? On top of that, they suspended my SIM and now I can’t call or text.

Re suspended sim. Probably due to that call through Rebtel.

You can contact O2 via Skype Guide: A Guide to Skype and use the payment management number of

0800 902 0217.

OR

Or you can message O2 on social media on Instagram https://o2uk.co/O2CIG), Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW

Did you pay Rebtel separately. If not it won't be the 03 element that was charged but O2 passing Rebtel charges on

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
