Hi - bought an iPhone via MPD which involved a 24mth contract with o2.

o2 texted me that contract ends 27/03, so am I right in thinking I should:

a) request PAC tomorrow 26/03

b) speak to o2 to cancel contract say 5pm 27/03

c) use the PAC on 28/03 to move to GiffGaff

I've read the Guide but am a bit foggy about what comes first, the PAC or the Cancel.

Thanks

Get your PAC by text

Give it to your new provider who will text you a date for the port

This ends your O2 contract and produces a final bill (if there are a few days usage)

No need to speak to O2 at all until you pay the final bill

Thanks for the swift and clear answer.

As it happens I was just checking out the GiffGaff site and they are having some major issues porting numbers at the moment! So may hold off for a few days until they confirm sorted.

If you are waiting for a while it might be worth "upgrading" to a 30 day deal @JoUser - that way you will reduce the amount you are paying until you switch over...

Check the likes of USwitch and comparison sites to see what is available.

Giffgaff seems good to go.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

I would give it a day or so as people late last night still saying its borked, and will be interesting to watch this thread and the community through the day

Thanks - though I am 'old school' and tend not to switch frequently or use comparison sites - hopefully GiffGaff delays short and so no major interim bill

Thanks - yes, from bitter past experience I always assume that every Fault will be followed by a cheery 'Resolved!' only for huge numbers of users to point out that there is Still A Fault.... then a few days later it is truly 'Resolved'. Shall hang on a few days.
