My granny received a text offering a £5 a month sim only deal. The above number was the one she phoned to organise it. She said it seemed legit but after shed given her bank details they hung up and she's concerned she's been scammed. I can't find the deal anywhere she was talking about and have just been played on hold when I phone this number.

Can anyone confirm if this number is legit or a scam?

This looks I'm afraid like a scam,

I would contact your gran's bank, and report it to them as well, and keep and eye on any direct debits been setup .

Also if she still has the text please forward to 7726 (this is a free to text number and will get to o2's fraud team).

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@james861

This is a genuine offer from O2, I took them up on the offer myself by going online

This is only available usually to those on an old tariff in order to move people on from one of the tariffs that they are aiming to make obsolete which is why you don't seethe £5 tariff appear in the shop pages
