I have a new phone and although the number is on my o2 account I cannot access it because the texts are being sent to my old phone as it is the contact number. My old phone died and is therefore unable to receive texts. I cannot get into my account to update anything. Any help will be appreciated.

This is a customer to customer community, not O2, so we cannot access your account, sorry.
You need to contact O2.
Message them on Social Media. Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) or give them a call on 202 or 0344 809 0202 (contract) 4445 or 0344 8090222 (PAYG)

Guide: How to find help & contact O2

I might be completely missing the point here, but if you take the SIM from your old 'phone and put it into your new one, won't that solve your problem ? 😀

The OP needs the contact number that O2 are using to be updated on O2's system.

It is sending texts to a number that is no longer in use.
