It it possible to stop topping up every month as i only want to us the phone & texts & no internet/data as it is a  very simple phone used very occasionally?

o2 no longer offer that type of PAYG tariff. 

These are becoming fewer and fewer, so have a look at 1pmobile or Tesco (while you can) or GiffGaff
