4G Dongle advice

Hi,

I'd really appreciate some advice - I've been going crazy attempting to talk to a human at O2 all day long. Unless I'm missing something, it seems it's just not possible currently unless you are already a customer, and my local O2 shop is not open either.

I need to get internet access in my house with no broadband connection, only for around 6-8 weeks or so before I move.

I've been advised that a 4G dongle would be the best solution. O2 is the only service with 4G reception at my house.

Presumably pay as you go would be the most cost affective solution, given that's only for a couple of months at the most?

However - the O2 pay as you go dongles are all sold out according to the website.

Would the best solution be to buy something like this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/HUAWEI-Unlocked-E8372h-320-Mobile-Dongle/dp/B08CY7VF3S/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&...

or this:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/E5330-3G-Unlocked-Networks-Configuration-Required/dp/B07Z5LWMNZ/ref=sr_1_5?...

and get a pay as you SIM directly from the O2 website?

If so, which type of SIM do I need?

I'll be using a lot of data - streaming video etc.

Really appreciate any advice, I'm a bit stuck currently!

Thanks

Jamie

An O2 sim will work in any unlocked dongle and if you want PAYG you need to look at these sim cards https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/sim-cards/pay-as-you-go#simtype=freeSimIpadsTablets

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thanks. I see you can get a 30 day contract data SIM as well, do you know if that might work out more affordable? I think I'd use something like 20GB per month?

It would be £18 for 30gb.

Do you know if that would be cheaper than Pay as You Go though?

Ah don't worry, I've found the page with the pay as you go costs now - they are more expesnive, so I'll get the 30 day contract.

Many thanks for your help.
