I had a call offering a discount on my bill, which then turned into an upgrade of phone.  Agreed a Samsung.  Got confirmation email confirming, then an email with a contract for an Apple Iphone .  Took aged to sort it out - Parcel was on the way with Iphone.  Took aged on Live chat with five people - all useless. Had to call and eventually got a contact called Sam - he emailed a label, which i had to print out to return phone .I had to take it back to the Post office.  Still waiting for the Samsung to arrive !

@DPJH19 Who called you to offer this discount? Are you certain it was O2? It sounds as if you may have been scammed. You need to speak to customer service.
Call 202 from your mobile or 0344 809 0202, 0800 902 0217 or 0800 032 1402.
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.
You can also reach O2 via social media:
Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB), Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW), or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG)

I thought O2 only sold phones with a SIM and not on their own

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
