Unlocking an 02 mobile

I purchased an LGG3 locked to 02 in 2012

The phone is redundant for I have enjoyed numerous upgrades since for the same monthly account.

Utilised the unlock option providing IMEI and the email response received said sorry this is not an 02 device.

Sheer nonsense I still have the original telephonica contract.  I note other members have problems to. I used an online that unlocking service that validated the phone and network.

Should I go to a high street service and forget help from 02?

Will be a computerised response from the database record. Just may be that it has been removed from the list after 11 years.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@NeilCG

O2 have always had issues unlocking LG phones.

It will be much quicker to go to a local phone shop or market stall to get it sorted.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
