Just got a text message from O2 saying I recently made a call to a premium line and to check my bill at <Link Removed>.

I didn't do it of course but googled onelink.me is not showing up at all.

Can't really believe this is getting through.  Is nothing safe anymore?

@junej5

It's a scam.

Block the number and do not follow any links.

Forward the scam text to 7726 - It's free.

Other ways to report here including Action Fraud website

https://www.o2.co.uk/help/safety-and-security/phishing-and-smishing-advice

How to block a number:

https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00062352/

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201229

Edited to add, you can always check My O2 to see if any premium calls have been made although I'm sure you will find nothing there.

The number is from O2 and appears on the same page as my other texts from O2.  I haven't clicked on it so I'm fine, just can't believe O2 can't prevent this.

Thanks for your reply.

@junej5

What number did it come from?

It is very difficult to stop these smishing attacks, as the domains they use change as do the numbers.

The best thing to do is what @Cleoriff said and report it on 7726 and then let o2 do their investigations.

From what i can tell, this domain is hosted somewhere that will take a dim view on malicious or spoofed websites.
- Xperia 1V - o2 and Spusu
- Pixel 8 Pro - o2 and Vodafone UK

I have also just received this; it has come through on the same text thread as genuine O2 messages.
Surely O2 can stop this kind of spoofing, and maybe do something about the url (which starts with O2) as well.

thanks for your help! Reporting to 7726 if very useful to know.

alway check web domain backwards. it MUST say o2.co.uk at the end or it is fake.

eg. o2.co.uk.online.net would be a fake.
