hi 02 community

my daughter is going to Thailand , Vietnam
And Bali etc early march , how do we activate or pay for her to use her phone when she’s away for 6 weeks and do we need to add credit to her account ?
She’ll be using data and calls etc

is there an 02 daily charge ?

or is it cheaper to buy a local pay as you go sim ?

thanks

Definitely cheaper to local a local sim or use WhatsApp over wifi.

O2 roaming prices depend on tariff.

Thanks for this .

Also if we call her phone when she’s in Thailand , for example , do we need to add a bolt on to our lines so we dont pay high call charges ?

It won't cost you to call her UK number. The charges are applied to the receiving phone.

As I mentioned, you can use WhatsApp over wifi and neither of you will pay anything.
