Is this a scam text or genuine?

I received the following - “Your verification code is :xxxx. O2 UK.” This text came From 02 UK

The x’s are actual numbers but redacted for obvious reasons. I have changed my password and security questions etc and the codes from them came to the exact same text message chain but a totally different format, two messages and were 6 digit codes.

I spoke to CS and they sent a four digit code to test it but that came to 02UK (missing the space)

anyone know what’s going on here?
