You won't get any answer to your query here as it's essentially customer to customer and O2 don't share any planned changes to their network on the forum.

 

You would be better asking your question direct to O2 using one of the options in the 'contact us' link at the bottom of the page.

I've never known O2 to make announcments about the network, but as they keep telling us they spend over a million pounds a day on it you never know.

 

Many areas have been upgraded to 3G 900 with better buildings penetration, so you may be lucky before too long.

from another thread that abs contributed to he said along these lines all 2g footprint will be 3g enabled (my guess 3g900) in 2-3 years or so time so any time in between you could get 3g.
