Just been into the O2 shop super excited to upgrade to the new 950 (I was even willing to forego the XL to stay with O2 proper, and they are charging £519.99 for the phone when the RRP sim free from MS direct is only £419.99. Are there plans to slash this price (and quickly!) or do I need to go to Caroline warehouse to not over pay?

Hi @Littlekt you pay that price with O2 as you have the benefit of Refresh. No other outlet does this....so up to you as to who you choose really

this is a customer forum so nobody from o2 will see this, if you're buying the phone outright you'd be just as well to buy from carphone warehouse and use either a sim only tariff or payg sim with it!

So you £100 over the RRP, which you don't with any other phone, to be able to pay them earlier.. The guy in customer services I spoke to couldn't believe it was more expensive either!

As I said @Littlekt you have the benefit of Refresh which allows to to walk away after you pay off the device plan. If you want to go with someone else and be tied to a 2 year contract that really is your choice wink

Just do the math and work out which way of getting the phone is the most cost effective.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2

The only benefit to you is getting a refresh tariff.
If you intend to keep the phone 2 years anyway just buy phone sim free and get a sim only deal.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
