To be honest I'm not that well up on this unsung hero. Seems very remiss that he was not knighted when you look at some who have. RIP sir.

I have heard of this wonderful man. He never saw himself as a hero which was very humbling. He was actually knighted in 2003. He was a true humanitarian.

I remember seeing his commemorative statue in Prague's railway station years ago and reserching the reason for it.

I hadn't realised he was still alive until now either. RIP.

I honestly had forgotten that it was just over a year ago he died in 2015. He did so much....but said he was only doing it for the children ...

It's not often someone puts the welfare of so many children as their purpose in life. I wish there were more people like this. Truly a hero after I've read more about this great man.
