It appears from the article that they are in the market now (with this scheme) to become a 'big lender'. As this wasn't their original purpose I can understand members being concerned ...

giffgaff money has arrived |
We're pleased as punch to announce that giffgaff money has now launched.
Firstly, thanks to all our members who shared their thoughts earlier this month to help shape what giffgaff money should look like.
We're very excited to be bringing our honest, no-nonsense approach to the world of personal finance, giving our members the opportunity to borrow money when they need it.
Our first product under giffgaff money, gives members access to fairer and simpler loans that fit their needs, plus using the power of our community we can help people make the right choices. We recently spoke about this at our recent Open Day, and since have been discussing this in the Community.
Our CEO Mike Fairman explains a bit more about giffgaff money in our blog.
Want to find out more, check out giffgaff money.

Mmmmmm...looking at that email we have another company inferring they 'have listened to their customers'
Any GiffGaff members here who can confirm they were involved in the survey?

I wonder how O2 will react to this as they use their network.
