World's oldest golden retriever celebrates her 20th birthday 🐶🎂

hope you are doing well in this heat. I thought I would share this: We have a very special birthday to celebrate!

This golden retriever named Augie who has celebrated her 20th birthday is now the world's oldest after passing the milestone. Despite the fact that goldens having a life expectancy of 10 to 12 years, Augie is still going strong.

August (her full name) the golden retriever was rescued when she was 14-years-old by her owners who thought others may not want to take on an elderly dog - and six years later she's still alive and kicking. Since then they have all taken trips around the country and she still loves the home comforts of playing fetch in the pool.

Her owner says Augie is surprisingly healthy and enjoys daily walks in the garden, although she is a bit shaky when she first gets up.

Happy Birthday, Augie. Bless your family for adopting a senior - who really wasn't. Keep going strong!

Happy Birthday Augie! Great old age for her breed.

No dogs now but had a few over the years. My last two were Yorkshire Terriers Benji and Jamie who were brothers. They died within a week of each other aged 15.

@Cleoriff shame! But Same here I have proper pictures of him! He was a Bernese Mountain Dog. He was so big me and my brother used him as a horse sometimes haha
