For my 999th thread I use the following
Flightboard. Great app with most airports in the worlds, so you can check if the flight ahead left to collect you.
Flight Finder or Flight Tracker so I can see where my aircraft is in the Sky
Trip Advisor and Expedia
Quite a few Florida apps ie Disney, Universal and others
Google Translate. Wow this has been mega useful.
ive got loads more, but use probably them the most.
wow that's more than 5. Oops sorry got carried away lol

I can get by for most things as long as they talk a little slower. Just the basics but the app is great as there are different categories and it speaks the words so you know the pronounciation.
Off there for 3 months around April so I will be using it quite a bit before then!

Nice one Jonsie
i learnt French at school a long time ago lol, so tried to remember it when I went back to France this year. Google translate helped me for some thing but I got by with my pigeon French. Found the people to be great too as they could see I was trying and they really tried to help back.
Always enjoy learning some words in any country I go to and I always find the people so much more helpful Too.

It's true, they tend to be more friendly and helpful if they can at least see you are trying to use their language wherever you go. I also have the Learn French, Spanish, German and Italian apps.
I did French and German at school so can get by and my son lives in Berlin where I go twice a year so it comes in handy.
I also did Latin for 3 years wwhich has been no good whatsoever (except for the odd quiz questions!):smileyvery-happy:
