Skype app will no longer function on Froyo or lower....

Whilst that maybe bad news for some this transcript from Samsung's live chat is hilarious (it's good to know it's not just O2)......

I can only guess that the cost of updating all the different versions of firmwares is becoming prohibitively expensive.
Froyo was released in May 2010 and only accounts for 0.7% of all phones accessing Google Play store so I doubt it will have a significant impact on their business....

They won't be I'm sure, assuming they rely on Skype, but it's a good excuse for a new phone or to learn how to flash a custom ROM slight_smile

As long as it's not a 3g or 3gs as they aren't supported anymore either slight_smile
