This years National Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year contest is underway!. The contest doesn't close until the 17th of November but there have already been some stunning entries submitted! I've posted a few of my personal favourite's below! Let me know your favourite shots!

I missed that @Martin-O2. Mama is protecting her baby. What all mamas do - animal or human. Fantastic photo. I love animal photos, particularly of dangerous animals. Very brave photographer. Mama could have got nasty if she thought the photographer was a threat to her cub.

@Glory1 The mothers are super protective of their cubs. I believe most attacks are from bears with cubs in tow.

@Cleoriff That's a fantastic shot! Shes having a good old stretch and I also like the epic looking clouds in the back ground!

A train crosses a bridge near some mist.

Mine is this one... it reminds me of the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon movie

And this one is amazing!
