Hi all.

Sorry this is posted later than intended 😅 I have been in a managers meeting all day and only just managed to post this.

I really hope that you enjoy this poem:

*Christmas time*

The days maybe short,

The nights frosty and sharp.

But there is something in the air

An ephemeral feeling.

There is magic brewing in the air

A spark that warms the heart.

Lights appearing all around,

In homes, shops and High streets.

Children fizzing with excitement

Counting down the days,

Until the holidays begin

Chattering about their wishes.

The air is crisp

The temperature is dropping

Frost is underfoot.

People hurry from shop to shop,

To find the perfect gifts:

A teddy for the nephew

A bike for the niece

Don't forget the neighbours, co workers

The nearest and dearest.

Clothes galore,

Tech, gifts sets, candles and more.

Something for everyone

No one forgotten

The gifts pile up high.

Cards are posted left and right

One for you and one for me.

Cheery robins adorn sparkling cards,

Snowy scenes and festive cheer.

Emerald trees laden with lights

Pop up in all the homes.

New snazzy decorations,

Old much loved ones nestled with the new.

The enticing smells drift from the shops:

Warm mince pies,

Hot chocolate,

Mulled wine.

They draw you in,

Envoking warm memories of times gone by

It's that time again

Of laughter, friendship and giving.

Extend the hand of friendship

To the young, the old and in-between.....

Christmas is here and let is magic envelope you

What a lovely poem @Pennywren. Really evocative. Like @Mi-Amigo said really reminds me of Christmas past. My sons are grown up now and grandchildren that bit older so some of the memories are really distant, However, just how I remember things. Thanks for posting x
