Yes @Bambino  I read that he totally didn't expect that as he keeps very fit now (after his early days when he was on just about anything unhealthy) He is now on special healthy diets and a punishing fit regime  I don't know whether the heart valve can be damaged by unhealthy drugs or eating etc. My family have had this problem and are trying to manage the situation without a valve change.  We were told that it was could be inherited or that's your valve came like that ~ possible  @Cleoriff  may know a bit more.

Good Luck Mick you will no doubt be paying for the best surgeons and aftercare.

You are very right ~ it is not a quick fix it is a very serious op.

and can have serious side effects too during and/or after this

kind of intervention.

Also well to remember that as you get older, heart valves lose their elasticity and can start leaking or fail to work properly.

So even if Micks condition isn't genetic, this is another reason it could happen.
