LG announces curved screen phones to launch in 2014

 

 

LG has announced it is to start mass-production of what it calls the "world's first flexible OLED [organic light-emitting diode] panel for smartphones"."

 

Is their no bounds to mobile phone technology !

I must admit I've never been attracted to the thought of this haha.

Although, do you think it would mean the phone is more durable? I would also imagine that the first curved phones would have less features than our current-gen smartphones.

I recall when people were discussing what the new iPhone 5s / 6 would look like ,and a few mock ups showed it as edge to edge ,and curved.

Got to admit it did look awesome.

Curved phones? Methinks someone in LG watches too much Star Trek, and wants phones to look like Star Trek commuincators.

Wearable tech - such as watches could be shaped around the wrist and hence have a bigger screen.....

Nope, mine is flat, isn't that normal? lol wink

 

I do see the point in curved screens, absolutely...but for other purposes (like you mentioned above) - not for phones.
