97 men, women and children - supporters of Liverpool FC - died as a result of a crush at F.A. Cup semi-final at

Hillsborough on 15 Apr 1989.

Today, a minutes silence will be held at 15.06 [3.06pm] BST - the time when match was halted 35 years ago;

and then a bell will be tolled in Liverpool 97 times - one for each victim.

I was one of the many thousands queuing round the ground on the following Sunday along with hundreds of Maan United fans as well as supporters from many other clubs

I was with my wife and two young boys who I took to Old Trafford for all the games at that time

We eventually filed in and laid a wreath along with our Man United scarves adding to the overflowing floral tributes, flags, scarves and football shirts at the Kop end of the ground

The mood was very somber with supporters openly weeping

Many Liverpool fans came up my family and thanked us

If any of you know your football you will know that our clubs are the fiercest of rivals but on that day but on that particular day all differences were put aside for the only time that I can remember before and since

Now I find it disgusting that disaster chants break out from a very small minority chanting about Hillsborough and the Munich air tragedy

Thank you @Cleoriff and @Enlli for your posts.

And a special thank you @jonsie

your post meant a lot to me, especially as you and your family paid tribute.

As you said, Liverpool and Man Utd have always been bitter rivals but that tragedy united us; and I totally agree that the small minority of hate chants about Hillsborough and Munich are disgraceful.
