If only they'd stuck to producing devices under the brands of operators, bought a Desire S myself, nice phone but really bad at holding onto signal where I am at least.

I agree. I don't think the brand ever recovered from the earlier Desire handsets.

Really horrendous luck HTC has had in recent years.
Not that long ago they had the phone of the year with the HTC one, which in its day was revolutionary in phone audio power thanks to the Beats partnership, look what a short few years can do.
