I saw this earlier @Bambino. It appears it's only available for iPhone customers at present? Unless I have missed something....

Touch ID is available on all Apple mobile devices for both HSBC and First Direct. Customers must download the mobile banking app and follow the instructions to link their fingerprint to it

From the way I read it, @Cleoriff, and from the BBC News at One report, customers will be able to use voice recognition only, which acknowledges the fact that not all HSBC customers have iPhones with fingerprint scanners.

It seems to be the future but it will have to be very sophisticated to recognise vocal traits if you have a nasal cold causing congestion or a sore throat.

If that's so it's better news. I did see some of this at 1pm and one reporter was asking if it worked if someone used a recording of your voice. Apparently it is able to detect this and refuse access

It isn't to be confused with "voice recognition" as it's "voice printing" which is something completely different.
It's not what's said but how it's said.

I think it will get confused. Even the BBC article called it 'voice recognition'. It's a phrase people have become accustomed to.

Yeah head this on the new today to. Must say I'm intrigued. If the technology improves then it could be useful but don't think it's as secure as they are making out.
