Apparently the BT network has been down in places, but I haven't noticed anything in London.

On BBC news this morning BT are stating the outage was due to a router problem which is now fixed.

Talk Talk also suffered some downtime yesterday which they claimed was due to a cyber attack. I have no confirmation link to this.... I literally have just heard it on BBC business news. Talk Talk are also back working properly now

Just shows that all networks can suffer problems.

Can and do. In the overall scheme of things, broadband, both static and mobile, is still relatively new technology, and outages will inevitably occur.
