Apple iPhone 5 sleep/wake Button Replacement.

Anonymous
Not applicable
"Apple announced a new replacement program today for folks having issues with the Sleep/Wake button on their iPhone 5. The program allows for the replacement of the button on select iPhone 5 models where it has either stopped working completely, or only works intermittently."

"Of course, your iPhone 5 must be in working condition to qualify for this program. The initiative covers iPhone 5 models [that meet the requirements] for 2 years after the retail sale date, and if you believe you paid for a replacement due to this issue, you can contact Apple for a refund."

It's good that if you take it to an apple store they will lend you an iphone 5 while yours is being repaired great customer service as always

I've always been impressed by Apples stance on Customer Service @Anonymous ,which is one of the reasons I continue to invest in their products and services.

I owned the iPhone 5 and thankfully I had no issues with it whatsoever and only sold it on to use 4G.

Slightly off topic ; since I purchased my iPad Air I've not really used my MBA. Awesome tablet.

Back on topic ; I've had no issues with the home / sleep wake button on any if my idevices thus counting myself fortunate.

Anyone know whether they are likely to extend this to the ipad? I have a friend with an ipad around 18 months old where the home button is unresponsive at times.

I've not seen anything jonsie relating to the iPad.

That said if they make a genius bar appointment they may take a look for free.

Also http://appletoolbox.com/2013/04/home-button-not-working-or-unresponsive-fix/

I have gestures turned on in my iPad air settings so don't use the home button that much.

To be honest I think maybe her 7 year old son has been playing on it with sticky/greasy fingers whilst eating. I will take her to the Apple store in Manchester before she goes back to Thailand but I think it may be a chargeable repair. But...you never know!:smileyhappy:

Mine in Leeds are pretty good tbh. I've seen people walk in after making the appointment and their first line is my warranty has run out but......... The genius just said let's have a look.

And yeah sticky fingers and home buttons don't mix..... Lol.
