A Summer’s Day at Home with the Cat

Breakfast outdoors in the cool of the morning

A bit of housework, if necessary, before indoors becomes too hot

My ginger / white cat Marty likes to be where I am, particularly now he is getting older

Lunch outside, a tin of tuna in spring water shared between the two of us. No salad for Marty

The sun is moving round to the front yard where we are

Marty is a cool cat, so has found some shade amongst the potted shrubs

A friend happens by. The kettle is on for refreshing cups of tea and chat

I am enjoying reading the second book in a series of four spy / thriller / espionage books

Chicken salad for tea. Marty has his share of the meat

As the sun moves behind the tall pine trees, the day cools down before sunset

At dusk Marty goes out further afield on his adventures whilst I retire inside to listen to radio Four

In the event of a shower we move just inside the kitchen door. The rain does not reach the doorstep so I continue to read my book whilst Marty sits quietly beside me sniffing the air.

It's so nice to go outside into the garden,  there's something essential about it, to sit and enjoy. 

To have a friend,  Marty, to enjoy it too they like the company and feel safe.

Good food and a restful day in the garden is healing.

Love your cat marty like to sit out doors when it's not raining and hear the birds we seem to this year have more pigeons than birds
