I have just upgraded and chose an iPad as I needed one of these for the work I do. I now have no access to calls on my phone and need it back urgently, I thought the iPad would just be a separate thing to the normal bill.

If you do an upgrade it replaces your current device.
You'll need a sim only tariff now for your phone.
