Hi, About to switch to O2 but there seems to be a contradiction in the annual price changes. Aside from the generous act of not applying RPI if it is negative, the contract states price rises from April 24, but eh website from 25:

Contact:

12 month(s). Each year your Airtime Plan will be increased by the Retail
Price Index (RPI) rate of inflation announced in February plus 3.9%. If RPI
is negative, we’ll only apply the 3.9%. You’ll see this increase on your April
2024 bill onwards. See o2.co.uk/prices

Footer from Basket page:
*Monthly price of your Airtime Plan will increase each April from April 2025 by the Retail Price Index rate of inflation announced in February each year plus 3.9%. If RPI is negative, we'll only apply the 3.9%.

Which is correct?
Thanks

If past years are anything to go by your bill will be subject to increase as of April 2024

Best option is to call to see if O2 are absorbing the increase on sales this year

Looks like you should contact the sales team as they can help with that – message them on Social Media if that works best for you

See links below

Or you can call them from 8am to 8pm on 0808 002 0202 or 0800 081 0255

Looks like typical O2 getting things wrong.

Previous years they always go up from the beginning of April.

Take out a contract now and I'm sure you will get hit for the extra.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Hey @Simple_question

The footer on the basket is correct on this one - there is currently an error on the contract summary detail quoting the April 2024, which should be April 2025.
Anyone taking out a contract after 08/02/24 will not see any potential Price Rise until April 2025 - its something we are working on sorting.

@Enlli @jonsie - We have a thread being prepped to cover RPI and price rise and will let you know once its up and running.

Looks like an 8.8% rise this year. Just short of 1% higher than their main competitors

We’ve added an official comment from VMO2 above. The operator informed us that they also invest more than £5m every single day to improve their networks and services – a figure far greater than the increases customers will see on their bills."

And how much of that is going to upgrade the mobile network and how much to Virgin Media to expand theirs?
