What does unregistered sim card mean?

It means the SIM is no longer recognised by O2's network, for some reason. Assuming you have taken the SIM out of the phone and cleaned the contacts gently, and the phone works ok with a different SIM in place, then your best bet would be to take phone and SIM and some photo id to an O2 Store and get them to check it over and, if necessary, provide a new, working, SIM onto which your number will be transferred.

If an O2 Shop visit is out of the question, you could try calling O2 after 8am today on any of the numbers in here Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support to get a replacement SIM sent, and perform the SIM Swap yourself, @llanito. O2 Social Media can also take your details and send you a replacement SIM, links to that team just below this post.

If your SIM is PAYG, you can request a replacement SIM yourself from  here and go through the swap process as above. All of this assumes your phone works fine with a different SIM. Good luck!
