My son will soon be 18 and i would like to transfer his phone number and account to his own account, is this possible or do we start a separate o2 account and cancel the original one?

Transferring the number cancels the old one @Cozz - don't close it down before you ask for the number to move or you might lose it...

Your son will need to get his own deal (either contract or pay as you go) @Cozz .

Once he is all set up then you have to contact customer services when you are both present.

He will need to request the number moves to his account, and you will need to approve the request.

If the contract his number is currently on is inside the minimum term then the rest of the contract will need to be paid up (eg, if his number is on a contract that has only completed 9 of 12 months, the remaining 3 months will be due when the number moves).

Thats great, thanks for your prompt reply. So open a new deal for him, cancel the old one, pay up what's owed then all systems go? great stuff.
