This weekend I made a number of attempts to upgrade my iPhone X to an iPhone 15 only to be informed that my application had been declined following a credit check. I have checked my credit rating with Equifax and it is excellent so I don’t understand why my application has been refused.

@SGlew

O2 set their own criteria which has nothing to do with any credit agencies.

They won't tell you why you failed but you can ask for a review.

The email address is creditfilereferrals@telefonica.com
Or you can write or fax them:
Credit File Referrals Team
Suite P
Arlington Business Centre
Leeds
LS11 0NE
Fax 0113 2025865

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Apart from writing the other option is to go somewhere else.

We used to get a lot of this on the Virgin Mobile forum. Customers often went into a EE or Vodafone shop and walk out with a phone

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

That would be my choice of option

O2 will probably never get back to you from the credit team and if they do they are almost certain to go with their original decision

Someone, somewhere wants your business but sadly not O2
