I have just had a call from O2 offering me a 20% on my account.  Is this genuine?

@Sheila5

That will be a scam, and seems like the discount is coming down to try and get more people to fall for it.  Hopefully you gave no information or one time passcodes.

Had a call this morning. Apparently from Nottingham.

Tried to tell O2 customer services but can't get through which proves it's a scam!

Blocked the number.

A call from an Edinburgh number this afternoon, same person which proved it I guess, sent him on his way and blocked that number too.

Called O2 CS again and still no answer.

No need to call CS, iunless you have given the scammers details Just check everything is OK with your account and follow the advice above.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@AndreaJ The call you received is far from unique. It happens thousands of times per day across all the networks. At this time there is no solution to stop this epidemic. The only thing anyone can do is either install an app to block the numbers or do it manually yourself. If you don't recognise the number calling you, don't answer. If it's genuine they will leave a voicemail. Never agree to anything from a cold caller no matter who they say they are or what they're offering. Following those rules will keep you out of trouble.

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
