Hi, I received am O2 contract for mobile attached to the new Virgin media contract.

But I've never asked to join O2 or change my mobile provider. I've aslo received an email that my payment has been changed with an account number. What do I need to do in order to cancel this contract which I've never signed for?

@bertolis - If you think you’ve been the victim of fraud – whether it’s because you’ve given details to someone over the phone, or clicked on a link in a suspicious text or email there are things you can do:

Contact your bank if you think you may have given out financial information. They can help protect your account and stop transactions.
Change your account and online account passwords. Not just your O2 account. All of them.
Forward fraudulent texts to O2 for free on 7726.
Contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
Call your Virgin Media or O2 customer services number if you think somebody’s taken out a contract using your details.
Virgin Media customers can phone 150 from their landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
O2 customers can call 202 from their O2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.

As you have just taken a Virgin Media Contract it sounds like Virgin have signed you up to a Volt package.

If this was less than 14 days ago you can cancel the SIM with O2, if not you have a fight on your hands.

Here is info about Volt

Volt Megaguide

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@bertolis

Your Virgin broadband contract is discounted if you have both a Virgin and O2 contract.

Cancelling the O2 sim may result in a higher broadband bill, so check if you're better off to keep the O2 contract even if you don't use the sim.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.
