First & second bills are both for the same period and charged the same

Looking for some help as I am finding it hard to find a customer service phone number.  I contract start date was 4th September and I received the notification that i would be billed 14 days later and that my next bill would be pro rata - absolutely no issues with that.  So my first bill was charged mid September for the full monthly amount.  I have now received another bill being charged on 19th October but the period is for 6th Sept - 5th October, exactly the same period as my last bill.  So essentially I am being charged twice for the same period ? or am I misunderstanding something.

When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
Say 'Upgrade', 'Lost/Stolen', or 'Fraud' if the suggestion above doesn't get you through.
Best time to call is 8 am.
