I have 4 contracts with o2 and have recently found out i should have been getting discounts for having more than 1 phone but have been told i should have asked at time i took them out this is unfair and unethical of o2 if this is not rectified im cancelling all 4 contracts and changing provider

Rules on discounts here https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-and-Services/O2-Open-amp-Friends-and-Family-discounts-H... but they do need applying for within 30 days of starting contract.
You can find complaints on this link if you think you have a case that needs investigating.

Actually, it's probably Family Plan you would be eligible for https://www.o2.co.uk/family-plan but again, you must apply within 30 days.
If you are on refresh just buy your phones (no discount on them anyway) a you can cancel the airtime for free.
Get your phones unlocked first though so you can use them on another network on a sim only tariff.

The Onus is on you to request any discounts applicable to you, and is the same as all businesses you have to ask as no one automatically gives them

I work in IT as an Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Tools Administrator (Office 365, Slack and much much more) and manage hardware both Mobile and Desktop / laptop, my desk is a bit like PC World
