This is a total balls up on O2's part and seems to be linked to their new 360 account setup. They don't know how to fix it. I would follow the advice given to me by the O2 employee in Leeds which is :

LEAVE O2 and go with another provider. Really, that is their solution. This is after spending 3 days at the store where several employees were getting annoyed with the feckless phone helplines. I was literally told that they don't know how to fix it. I was standing there, card in hand, ready to give them a big fat contract and they said "go somewhere else".

Wow O2.

At least they told you to "go somewhere else" rather than continuing to mess you around.

There are several things not working well for O2 currently - a quick search of this forum will identify the recurring themes - and only a big exodus of customers will force their resolution.
