You need to obtain a O2 P&G sim card and top it up. Make a few calls and texts and then ensure you have £15 credit on the phone when you send the unlock form.

ah right I see thanks.
Just have another quick question, Do I have to put the payg sim in the phone I'm wanting to unlock?
The reason i ask is because I have family who are on o2 payg but they are miles away I could always top them up tonight and complete the form, or would I need to physically put a sim in the phone i'm wanting to unlock? I'm not sure if the network will want to record the sim against the phone first?

Yes your partner would be able to use their sim but again, the sim would have to be in the phone and seen to be being used until the phone has been unlocked.

hello

I have an iPhone 2G which is locked to O2 network, and I have had a pay monthly sim only sim card put into that iPhone and I have made a call and sent a text. after I have filled in the 'unlock my phone' form and sent to O2, O2 replied like this:

Thank you for your iPhone unlatching request.

I'm sorry, we have not been able to unlatch your iPhone at this time.
The reason given is: The Mobile Number provided has not been registered
to the IMEI provided
Thank you,

O2 Customer Service

I think they are wrong, what do you think?

please can you tell me what to do

Use it some more and try again,. Also make sure you entered the IMEI correctly on the form.
